Following a complete transformation, Adam & Eden was reborn in 2017 with a mission to delight guests by serving up delicious homemade Mediterranean and international dishes, crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
The building was constructed in a Neo-Renaissance architectural style, featuring elements of Historicist design, similar to the main railway station.
Despite multiple bombings during World War II, parts of the building survived and were later reconstructed after the war.
The restaurant took on the name Eden and was later called L’Echalotte.
The hotel and restaurant closed their doors for nearly 30 years.
The restaurant was revitalized as Adam & Eden, drawing inspiration from the legacy of the fine-dining establishments Eden and the French-inspired L’Echalotte. Both had left their distinguished marks on Mainz’s culinary scene, earning their place among the region’s top dining destinations.
The inspiration of the “Garden of Eden” is reflected in the unique interior design of our restaurant, bar, and lounge. Immerse yourself and savour the modern flavours of today—complemented by a refined selection of spirits and exceptional cocktails named after the Seven Deadly Sins, bringing the spirit of the Garden of Eden to life.
